However, two centuries ago for some unknown reason the warring stopped, and all five races came to peace. They declared a star in the center of their sector to be their capital. And the Star Republic has kept the peace, however uneasy it has been, for 200 years. Now, some of the races have outgrown their sector and wish to expand. This body is almost unexplainable by astro-geologists, and is constantly under study by some research group or another. The Helix, as it is called locally, is shaped like a piece of DNA, complete with connecting rungs. Within the twisting shape is a breathable atmosphere with several different climate zones, including Polar, Tropical, and Desert.

Sector Type: Trade and Social Gameplay
Organizations: Commonwealth of New Pacific, Port Block Yards, Warrior Monks of St. Patbrick's, Especially Cross Piratical Space Dudes
Description: A sector where the local authorities take a line rather consistent with the Port Block Yards ethos. One might reasonably expect PBY to have a substantial base or three in such a sector, and for it consequently to be a hive of commercial and starship refit and maintenance activity, meaning that the spacemen servicing industries (pubs, clubs, and houses of lesser repute) are also flourishing.

The main political influence in the Ranar Sector is the UDPSL, who have united all of the planets under their peaceful reign. The UDPSL will ally with any respectable party, and will be prepared to defend itself or its allies with all the vigor that this sector can unleash.
